Winners for Life

Our largest initiative is our Winners for Life Breast Cancer Awareness initiative, which operated independently from 2002 – 2016. In 2018, Rilassati Women’s Retreats acquired the organization and ensures its mission continues. Our Executive Director,Tracey Young (daughter of the late Dr. Winifred Frelow, founder of Winners for Life) ensures the vision of the organization remains intact and innovative through the educational concepts purposed by its founder.

Currently, about 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. Breast cancer is also the most commonly diagnosed cancer among American women. The key to survival is early detection! A recent study by the American Cancer Society revealed that women who skip even one scheduled mammography screening before a breast cancer diagnosis face a significantly higher risk of death from the cancer. Many of the underserved members of our community have limited resources, thereby limiting their access to health care, including life-saving mammograms. Our Winners for Life initiative is committed to assisting these members of our community CHOOSE LIFE, by providing funds to enable them access to a mammogram.

To date, our Winners for Life initiative has educated thousands of women in matters related to breast health, supported thousands of survivors and has raised over $100,000+in funds earmarked for the provision of mammograms for our locally underserved population. Our Annual Seminar & Luncheon welcomes hundreds of local attendees, provides valuable education and celebrates local survivors!
